Forest of Fallen Giants

A ruined fortress grown into the roots of dead giants, guarded by Drangleic soldiers, the Last Giant and the Pursuer.

Bosses

The Last Giant: Hack at its legs and stay behind it; once it tears off its arm it swings it as a club, so keep your distance during that phase.
The Pursuer: Parry or roll toward its sword; the two ballistas in the arena can stagger it and deal heavy damage.

Walkthrough: Forest of Fallen Giants

Head right up the stream for a Homeward Bone and a Soul of a Lost Undead, then follow the water down to The Crestfallen's Retreat bonfire
Clear the camp, fish another Soul of a Lost Undead out of the river and climb the ladder
Turn right for a Green Blossom, jump over for Throwing Knifes and a Soul of a Nameless Soldier, then come back
Up the second ladder take another Soul of a Nameless Soldier and kill the firebomb thrower
Jump the gap for the Shortsword and a Soul of a Lost Undead
Drop down, clear the clearing and collect the Broken Straight Swords, a Human Effigy and a Lifegem
Past the fog gate, enter through the broken wall, clear the room and break the cabinet for Wood Bolts, then take the Lifegem in the hallway
Climb the steps carefully (archer and firebomber above), take the Buckler, climb the ladder for Witching Urns and light the Cardinal Tower bonfire
Meet Merchant Hag Melentia and buy Lenigrast's Key first; she also sells a Traveling Merchant Hat, Pharros' Lockstone, Fragrant Branch of Yore, Soul Arrow, Heal and basic weapons
Spending 10,000 souls with Merchant Hag Melentia (or killing her) gets the Covetous Silver Serpent Ring+1
Exhaust Merchant Hag Melentia's dialogue so she moves to Majula later
Smash the upstairs door and hunt the Crystal Lizard inside. Loot: chest (Small Leather Shield, Repair Powder), behind the cart (Hand Axe, Radiant Lifegems), a body (Hollow Soldier Helm)
Open the other door, survive the ambush and loot the Small White Sign Soapstone and Radiant Lifegems from the chest
Drop onto the branch for a Divine Blessing, then drop again
Go back through the door, drop to the scaffolding and jump across for a Human Effigy
Work down the scaffolding for a Soul of a Lost Undead and a Torch; from the treetop jump to a ledge for Prism Stones
In the first cave grab the Foot Soldier Shield; in the second take the Soul of a Proud Knight, dash to the door for a fire Longsword and time your exit between the salamander's fireballs
Take the Lifegems left of the ladder, climb up and slip back to the bonfire through the hole in the wall
In Majula, unlock Blacksmith Lenigrast's door; he upgrades gear and sells Titanite Shards, ammo and basic weapons, and the Short Bow sits in a chest behind him
Spend 8,000 souls with Blacksmith Lenigrast (or kill him) to receive the Blacksmith's Hammer
From Cardinal Tower go down the ladder and over the bridge for a Soul of a Lost Undead
With the Silvercat Ring, snipe the salamanders and drop into the pit below the bridge for the Hawk Ring, Firedrake Stone, Large Soul of a Proud Knight and the Flame Quartz Ring+1 in the chest
In that pit's cave take Cracked Red Eye Orbs, the Heavy Iron Key and the Rebel's Greatshield, then climb back out
Through the fog gate climb the branch, clear the top and lure a firebomb thrower into blowing open the shortcut wall
Up the ladder, kill the firebomber and fight The Pursuer early if you like; loot the Estus Flask Shard, Repair Powder, Human Effigy, Lifegems and a Torch up there
Jump down the scaffolding to the cave on the left for a Human Effigy
Talk to Cale the Cartographer until he hands over the House Key and mentions Majula; grab the Amber Herb on the ledge
Killing Cale the Cartographer drops his helm and puts the rest of his set in Merchant Hag Melentia's shop
Climb up, kill the archer, drop to the roof, clear the scaffolding and drop into the tower for a Torch
Jump to the house loft, drop down for the Titanite Shard by the gate and return to the bonfire
Go through the hole in the wall, down the steps, and drop off for a Green Blossom
In the ballista room, dodge in and out to bait the hollows, then loot the Great Soul Arrow, Blue Wooden Shield and Large Soul of a Lost Undead
Down the ladder, open the trapped chest for a Titanite Shard, then use a Pharros' Lockstone on the hidden door for the Chloranthy Ring and a Titanite Slab
Hit the wooden door to break it, clear the room and open the chest for the Life Ring and a Large Titanite Shard
Back on top, talk to Mild Mannered Pate, then walk through the gate that slams behind you
Clear the courtyard and building and grab the Aromatic Ooze
Open the illusory wall at the foot of the stairs for the Sorcerer's Staff and an Amber Herb
Climb up and drop to Mild Mannered Pate for the White Sign Soapstone (you still get it if you died in his trap)
Killing Mild Mannered Pate gives Pate's Spear and the Ring of Thorns and stocks his set at Merchant Hag Melentia
Through the archway, take the Large Soul of a Lost Undead behind the tree and climb the ladder for the Light Crossbow
In the building, kill the invisible hollow by the brazier and jump to the platform for a Soul of a Nameless Soldier and a Torch
Drop down for the Mail Breaker and Infantry Helm in the chest, then drop outside
Beat the two hollows at the fog gate, go through and open the side door back to the bonfire
Grab the Fire Arrows on the ledge, then the Large Leather Shield and a Lifegem on the steps inside
Outside collect Amber Herbs on the left and a Lifegem and Homeward Bone on the right platform
Climb the giant sword (watch the ambush behind) for the Halberd and a Soul of a Nameless Soldier
Ride the lift down and defeat The Last Giant; Mild Mannered Pate and Sellsword Luet can be summoned at the fog. Reward: Soul of the Last Giant, Soldier Key and 10,000 souls
Back in Majula, Merchant Hag Melentia now sells unlimited Lifegems
From Cardinal Tower cross the bridge and unlock the door with the Soldier Key for the Ring of Restoration; open the chest normally, breaking it destroys the ring
At the giant sword, unlock the right-hand door, climb up and grab a Soul of a Nameless Soldier and a Lifegem
If not done yet, defeat The Pursuer at the top; Ruined Alfis can be summoned in the dark corridor and the ballistas deal big damage. Reward: Soul of the Pursuer, Ring of Blades and 17,000 souls
Drop down past the arena for the Drangleic Sword, Drangleic Shield and Drangleic armour (no helm)
Use the giant nest in the boss arena to be carried to The Lost Bastille (The Tower Apart); open the chests for a Dull Ember and two Human Effigy items
Circle the ledge of the left building for a Radiant Lifegem and Large Titanite Shard
Drop down and open the chest for a Fragrant Branch of Yore, the Covetous Silver Serpent Ring and a Human Effigy; another Pursuer appears
Up the ladder and along the walkway, roll through the barrels to reach Lucatiel of Mirrah; exhaust her talk and take the Antiquated Key from the chest
Killing Lucatiel of Mirrah drops her mask and ends her questline
Walk the wall on the right and climb for a Large Titanite Shard, then grab the Gold Pine Resin in the alley further along
Roll a barrel down to blast the wall, then light the McDuff's Workshop bonfire
With a lit torch, raid the chests for Large Titanite Shards, Titanite Shards, Iron Arrows and Heavy Bolts
Give the Dull Ember to Steady Hand McDuff, light the torch stand and rest; his chest now holds the Craftsman's Hammer and Twinkling Titanite
Steady Hand McDuff infuses gear and sells weapons like the Bastard Sword, Uchigatana, Greataxe, Winged Spear, Scythe, Long Bow and Royal Kite Shield
Spend 14,000 souls on Steady Hand McDuff's services to receive a Titanite Slab (counts for Smith for Life)
Back in Majula open the mansion with the House Key: Pharros' Lockstone in the library, Titanite Shards and a Torch upstairs
Kill the skeletons under the map room for a Human Effigy, then take the Estus Flask Shard and the Soul Vessel from the chest
From Cardinal Tower open the barred door past the bridge with the Soldier Key
Grab the Black Firebombs and Homeward Bone in the side alcove and a Torch at the end
In the next building climb up for the Whip, a Soul of a Nameless Soldier and Cracked Red Eye Orbs; the Bastard Sword is on a roof corpse
By the sealed gate collect an Amber Herb and a Green Blossom
In the next building, a chest on the wooden frame holds a Large Soul of a Proud Knight and the Leather set
Armorer Dennis may invade here; leave him alive if you plan to farm Seed of a Tree of Giants
Light the Soldiers' Rest bonfire; the sleeping giant next door can drop a Seed of a Tree of Giants when you are invaded
Return to Majula and take the stone stairs toward Heide's Tower of Flame, grabbing a Soul of a Lost Undead and the Broken Thief Sword

At The Pursuer's old arena in the Forest of Fallen Giants, talk to Benhart of Jugo and touch the giant tree to enter
Talk to Benhart of Jugo again inside, take the left stairs and clear the room
Take the Fading Soul; a Pharros' Lockstone opens a wall with a trapped chest holding Soul of a Hero items
Skip the second contraption (it is a trap); the illusory wall to its right hides the Steel set and a Fire Seed
On the roof, clear the ballistas and hit the wooden support on the far-left wheel to drop a platform
Roll onto the platform and into the room for Simpleton's Spice, Skeptic's Spice and Bonfire Ascetics
Drop through the hole for Wilted Dusk Herbs, then down for a Soul of a Great Hero and Soul Vessel
Across the courtyard grab a Large Soul of a Proud Knight, and climb the ladder for a Soul of a Proud Knight

From Cardinal Tower go down the ladder, cross the bridge and open the big door with the King's Ring; light The Place Unbeknownst
Drop down outside for Twinkling Titanite and a Fragrant Branch of Yore, then feather back
Touch the tree to enter; you may summon either Benhart of Jugo (his 3rd fight) or Captain Drummond (needs Vammar first) at the steps
Dodge the falling fireballs, take the Bonfire Ascetic on the first left platform and run from the giant rolling head
Grab the Fire Seed near the end, then defeat the Giant Lord. Reward: Giant Lord Soul, Giant's Kinship and 75,000 souls
Take the Old Radiant Lifegem by the pillar, go down the steps and touch the giant for a Soul of a Giant
NG+: the Giant Lord drops the Ring of Giants+2 and the passage past the head has a Divine Blessing
