Dark Souls II's HundoDex

Dark Souls II Bosses Checklist

All 41 bosses in Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin with where to find them, weaknesses, souls and rewards. Tick them off as you go.

  • The Last Giant – Forest of Fallen Giants. Weak to Dark. Hack at its legs and stay behind it; once it tears off its arm it swings it as a club, so keep your distance during that phase.
  • The Pursuer – Forest of Fallen Giants. Weak to Lightning, Strike. Parry or roll toward its sword; the two ballistas in the arena can stagger it and deal heavy damage.
  • Dragonrider – Heide's Tower of Flame. Weak to Strike, Fire, Lightning. Raise both platforms first so the floor is solid; it can be lured into falling off the edge.
  • Old Dragonslayer – Cathedral of Blue. A fast spear knight with a lightning lunge; strafe and punish after his long thrusts.
  • Flexile Sentry – No-man's Wharf. Weak to Lightning. Fought in knee-deep water on the ship; circle it and hit the side that is not attacking.
  • Ruin Sentinels – The Lost Bastille. Weak to Strike, Lightning, Poison. Kill the first sentinel quickly before the other two drop from the ledges.
  • Belfry Gargoyles – Belfry Luna. Weak to Strike, Magic. Up to five gargoyles join over time; deal damage fast so you never face them all at once.
  • The Skeleton Lords – Huntsman's Copse. Weak to Strike, Fire. Each of the three lords releases a wave of skeletons when it dies; stagger the kills and use strike damage on the minions.
  • Executioner's Chariot – Undead Purgatory. Weak to Lightning, Fire, Bleed. Hide in the wall alcoves as it races by, pull the lever to block the track, then fight the horse directly.
  • Covetous Demon – Harvest Valley. Weak to Thrust, Magic, Fire, Bleed. Shoot down the hanging pots to drop hollows that it eats, then strike while it is busy.
  • Mytha, the Baneful Queen – Earthen Peak. Weak to Thrust, Fire. Burn the windmill first to drain the poison pool; she hits hard but is fragile up close.
  • Smelter Demon – Iron Keep. Weak to Strike. Bring fire resistance; once its sword ignites it burns you just by being near, so finish it quickly.
  • Old Iron King – Iron Keep. Weak to Lightning. Fight on the narrow ledge over lava; dodge his fire beam and hit his hands and head when he leans in.
  • Scorpioness Najka – Shaded Woods. Weak to Thrust, Fire. Cut her stingers when they stick in the ground; watch for the homing soulmass she casts at range.
  • Royal Rat Authority – Doors of Pharros. Weak to Fire. Kill the small rats first and stay under the big rat to avoid its toxic bites.
  • Prowling Magus and Congregation – Brightstone Cove Tseldora. Weak to Slash, Thrust, Fire. Use the pews as cover from the dark spells and pick off the hollow casters one at a time.
  • The Duke's Dear Freja – Brightstone Cove Tseldora. Weak to Strike, Fire, Bleed. Clear the small spiders, then attack the heads from the side and avoid her laser.
  • Royal Rat Vanguard – Grave of Saints. Weak to Fire. Thin the pack of rats until the mohawked leader shows up; fire and area attacks help.
  • The Rotten – Black Gulch. Weak to Thrust, Lightning, Bleed. Attack from behind and cut off his arms to weaken his cleaver combos.
  • The Lost Sinner – Sinners' Rise. Weak to Magic, Slash, Thrust. Light both oil pots to see the arena, then dodge her sword lunges and punish recovery.
  • Twin Dragonrider – Drangleic Castle. Weak to Strike, Fire, Lightning, Dark. Kill the archer on the ledge first, then handle the halberd rider alone.
  • Looking Glass Knight – King's Passage. Weak to Strike, Magic, Fire, Dark. At half health he summons a phantom from his mirror shield; kill or ignore it and keep behind his shield.
  • Demon of Song – Shrine of Amana. Weak to Bleed, Magic, Dark. Hit the exposed face when its shell opens and dodge its charges through the water.
  • Velstadt, the Royal Aegis – Undead Crypt. Weak to Strike, Lightning. Heavy bell hammer attacks; dodge the dark buff and delayed slams, then punish.
  • Vendrick – Undead Crypt. Nearly invincible unless you carry several Soul of a Giant; each one lowers his defences.
  • Guardian Dragon – Aldia's Keep. Weak to Magic, Dark. Stay under its belly or near its feet to avoid the fire sweeps.
  • Ancient Dragon – Dragon Shrine. Weak to Lightning. An optional fight; huge fire attacks, so bring lots of fire resistance and patience.
  • Giant Lord – Memory of Jeigh. Weak to Dark. Attack his legs and stay mobile; you must kill him for Nashandra to appear.
  • Throne Watcher and Throne Defender – Throne of Want. Weak to Lightning. They revive each other, so bring both down at roughly the same time.
  • Nashandra – Throne of Want. Weak to Strike, Lightning. Destroy the small curse statues she summons and attack her legs.
  • Aldia, Scholar of the First Sin – Throne of Want. Weak to Slash, Lightning, Magic. Unlocks the second ending; dodge his fire waves and root attacks. No souls or items.
  • Darklurker – Dark Chasm of Old. Weak to Fire, Lightning, Magic. Splits into two at half health; focus one copy and keep moving.
  • Elana, Squalid Queen (Crown of the Sunken King) – Dragon's Rest. Weak to Magic. She summons skeletons, pigs or a phantom Velstadt; kill her fast or deal with the summons first.
  • Sinh, the Slumbering Dragon (Crown of the Sunken King) – Dragon's Rest. Weak to Magic, Dark. His hide corrodes weapons; bring spares or repair options and fight at his feet.
  • Graverobber, Varg, and Cerah (Crown of the Sunken King) – Cave of the Dead. A three-on-one gank; remove the archer Cerah first.
  • Fume Knight (Crown of the Old Iron King) – Brume Tower. Destroy the four Ashen Idols first or they heal him; his second phase adds a flaming sword.
  • Sir Alonne (Crown of the Old Iron King) – Memory of the Old Iron King. Weak to Strike. A fast katana duel; parry or punish the end of his combos.
  • Blue Smelter Demon (Crown of the Old Iron King) – Iron Passage. Weak to Strike, Dark, Lightning. Same moves as the Iron Keep Smelter Demon but with magic damage; bring magic defence.
  • Burnt Ivory King (Crown of the Ivory King) – Grand Cathedral. Weak to Lightning. Rescue the three Loyce Knights first so they seal the portals that release Charred Loyce Knights.
  • Aava, the King's Pet (Crown of the Ivory King) – Frozen Eleum Loyce. Weak to Thrust, Fire. Invisible unless you hold the Eye of the Priestess; dodge the homing ice crystals.
  • Lud and Zallen, the King's Pets (Crown of the Ivory King) – Frigid Outskirts. Weak to Thrust, Fire. Damage the first tiger as much as possible before the second arrives partway through.
